ABOUT US
Navigating Veteran Affairs (VA), state and local nonprofits, transitions, and other life events can be overwhelming. We are here to help. The veteran support team is able to assist veterans by reducing barriers to accessing mental health and substance abuse services and for navigating veteran specific benefits and resources. These resources include but are not limited to: housing, employment, and healthcare resources for veterans in Ingham, Eaton, and Clinton Counties.
The Veteran Support Team at CEI-CMH consists of the Veteran Navigator/Therapist (United States Army combat Veteran) along with a Client Services Specialist (partner of a current service member) and a Veteran Peer Support Specialist (United States Army combat Veteran). All team members work at the main CEI-CMH Building at: 812 E. Jolly Road in Lansing. The Veteran Navigation team can provide referrals and take initial Veteran inquiries.
GRANT FUNDED | ||
There are several similar Veteran Navigator positions throughout the state of Michigan. Most positions are working through PIHPs or CMHs in the state of Michigan. The grant is funded through the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities Administration. They are using a variety of funding sources including mental health and substance abuse block grant dollars to fund this initiative. |
WHO IS ELIGIBLE? | ||
If a Veteran has VA Healthcare, Medicaid, private insurance or no insurance they are eligible for services. All services provided by the Veteran Support Team are at no charge to the Veteran or Veteran Family Member. The Veteran must live in the Tri- County Area (Ingham, Eaton, or Clinton Counties). If they do not, they can be referred to a Veteran Navigator in their county. |
