CMHA-CEI In-person Committee and Board of Directors Meetings effective July 1, 2021:
CMHA-CEI Board of Director and board committee meetings generally occur in-person at 812 E. Jolly Road, in the Atrium. All Board meetings follow the Open Meetings Act. Methods for Members of the Public to Attend and Speak
A member of the public has the option to attend, as well as to speak either in-person or electronically during the times allotted for public comment. Please note the 3-minute public comment time limit will remain in effect and be enforced.
CMHA-CEI is allowing the following methods to be used for members of the public to submit comments to the Board and/or Committee members in advance via US mail to 812 E. Jolly Road, Lansing, MI marked ATTN to the appropriate Board and/or Committee Secretary listed below or via email to the appropriate Secretary. When emailing, please include the subject of the public comment in the subject line of the email and either include the written statement in the email or attach a copy of the written statement to the email.
Enabling Participation
Members of the public body and members of the public participating electronically will be considered present at the meeting and may participate as if physically present. Assistance will be provided to enable in-person participation at the meeting by persons with disabilities (that is, persons with intellectual, developmental, and physical disabilities). Please contact the appropriate Board and/or Committee Administrative Assistant/Secretary listed above for any assistance needed.
About the Board
By law, the Board of Directors has twelve (12) members. The elected Boards of Commissioners of Clinton, Eaton and Ingham Counties each appoint members to the Board who reside in their respective counties. Up to four (4) members of the Board may be County Commissioners, not more than one (1) from Clinton County, not more than one (1) from Eaton County and not more than two (2) from Ingham County. One consumer representative shall be an appointee of Ingham County. One consumer representative shall be an appointee of either Clinton or Eaton County.
Regular Board Meetings are held on the third Thursday of each month that does not start on a Thursday and on the fourth Thursday of each month that starts on a Thursday. Please check the on-line calendar for meeting changes due to holidays.
Standing committees are Human Resources, meets quarterly on the first Wednesday of the month at 5:30pm. Program and Planning, meets on the second Monday of each month at 5:30 pm. Recipient Rights, meets quarterly on the first Thursday of the month. Finance, meets on the second Wednesday of each month. All meetings are open to the public and include short periods of time near the beginning and end of the meetings for public comment.
